1. What are the types of documents that you translate?

Ultra Translate translates virtually all types of documents: government papers for immigration, medical text, legal case work, school diplomas and transcripts, technical manuals, journals, books, letters, websites, etc. Whether highly technical or very general content, Ultra Translate provides the highest translation quality possible by matching translators specializing in the subject area of your document with your text. 2. What is a certified translation vs. a standard translation?

Ultra Translate certified translations are translations that have passed a rigorous set of translation checks and proofreading to guarantee absolute accuracy. These translations are then set onto Ultra Translate specific templates that correspond to US and international definitions of certified translations. These hardcopy (paper) translations include appropriate stamps and seals representing the Ultra Translate A.T.S. and A.T.A. corporate certification licenses, and final notarization of the responsible translation specialist or officer's signature approval and attestation. We certify every document individually, not in "bulk" to insure absolute quality. These translations are guaranteed to meet all requirements for certified translations demanded by all major government agencies.

Ultra Translate standard translations meet the same high quality and checks of our certified translations. These translations are returned usually in the same file format as received. DTP layout is available for most languages. Business correspondence, handbooks, K-12 school forms, books, magazine articles, personal letters and so forth are types of standard translations often requested. Return to top

3. Do I need a certified and notarized translation?

If you are applying for any type of visa/passport/green card or virtually any matter at all with the USCIS (formerly known as the INS) or State Department, usually you need a true, accurate and complete certified translation of any foreign language documents. Likewise, for recognition of legal/medical diplomas and school transcripts, certified translations are always the safest guarantee of acceptance. Always check with the institution you are submitting your documents to for determining which documents need certification. Notarization of the official signature on the certified translation is always provided, to Exceed all US govt. certification standards, and also visibly demonstrate that the certified translation is from an accredited USA based agency. 4. Do you certify documents to be submitted to a non-US government agency?

Yes. We certify all official documents, such as birth certificates, and legal agreements, needing to be certified for foreign agencies.

Note: Many foreign agencies may request additional Apostille legalization for any source documents being translated. usually the apostille is for the source document official signature (obtained from the Secretary of State from the state where issued and legalized from, or corresponding other counrty legalization). Sometimes (rarely, but it does occur), they may also ask for additional legalization of the certified translation official notarization. We can help obtain this additional certification from the Secretary of State of the state of the office issuing our translations, as a separate service, upon request, in such cases. Requirements concerning foreign use should always be verified with the local authorities receiving such translations, as they vary.

5. I have a document that has already been translated by an accredited translator - do I need to have it retranslated for certification?

It will depend on the available translation quality. We will have to examine the translation for final determination, but if a qualified translator has previously translated the document we will need only the original copy and the translated text sent for review. If the quality is usable, our services will entail proofreading and formatting of the text along with final certification/notarization. Please indicate this when you submit your documents. 6. What is the process to obtain a certified translation?

It's as easy as 1-2-3:

Get the documents that you need translated ready, in files: For hard copy documents not already in electronic format, you can use a mobile phone to take a picture of them, or scan them in with a scanner, to obtain suitable copies (if you dont have copies of your documents yet and need just a general informational quote, fill out the Request Quote form, and send copies of your documents later).
  2. 2. Send the copies of your documents (text files, pictures, scans) to us using the Request Quote form

    After the order is placed, the translation will be completed in the service time chosen (normal or express service). For certified translations, the text, once completed, is sent to your contact email, in case anything needs clarification, or for English name spelling confirmation of non-Latin character names, before final certification. After confirmed (or if no reply) the hard copy, certified translation is then mailed to you via USPS priority or express mail, according to your order. You can then use the certified translation for all official uses.

7. What is the process to obtain a standard translation?

Get the documents that you need translated ready, in files: Documents that may require special artwork or print layout (eg brochures, labels, etc), can have just pdf versions sent initially for analysis (artwork files sent once a project commences). 8. Do I need to send in my original documents for a certified translation?

No. We can issue certified translations based on good quality scanned in images or faxed documents. We keep this copy archived, so as any agency that your translation is submitted to may verify with us that the submitted translation and document matches our archived translation and document submitted to us for translation. 11. How do I pay?

12. What is the turn-around time for translations?

In our price quote/estimates you will note that we have two services: Normal and Express. Our normal service usually guarantees project completion within 1-5 business days, with small documents (such as birth certificates) taking on average the lower end amount of 3 days to complete. Mailing of hard copy certified translations is by USPS priority mail (usually 2-4 business days for delivery) or USPS express mail (usually 1-2 business days for delivery). If a copy is needed urgently, a pdf scan version can be made before mailed for download and printing the same day mailed, if notified 1 day before mailed. If for any reason, due to unforeseen circumstances, the translation will take longer than expected we shall advise you immediately. Return to top

13. What is the Ultra Translate guarantee?

Unless you request otherwise, we shall retain a copy of all translated materials. If you ever need a certified copy of your translation again, let us know and we will be able to process the request usually within 1 day for your document at the very inexpensive translation copy price included in your quote. 16. What security features does Ultra Translate implement?

Ultra Translate securely archives all of your documents on non-internet accessible workstations. We shall also destroy all documents upon request. We will never divulge any information related to you or your documents to any third party without your direct authorization. 19. Do I need Notarization for my certified translations?

Yes. Notarization is the Best method to demonstrate 2 requirements of certified translations for official use: (1) Certified translations need to be completed by Humans, professional translators, not machines. (2) Certified translations for US government use need to be issued by a registered US based translation agency, translations by foreign agencies are generally not accepted, regardless of quality.
